To Be Happy



To be happy in your own skin we must listen to our body - take in the perspective of your body. ⁠

Yes, I am up all night scrolling on my phone. No wonder I have wrist, shoulder, elbow, neck pain.⁠

Yes, I had too many wines last night, no wonder my joints ache and I am feeling tired.⁠

Yes, I cancelled my workout session with a friend. No wonder I feel miserable!⁠

Going to a Pilates class gives you the time and space to reconnect with your body. To master the Pilates moves and to feel mobility and strength in muscles and stable and easy in your joints.⁠

The key to having a successful relationship with our body lies in our ability to take the perspective of our body. Perspective taking is that all important skill of being able to look at things from a point of view other than our own. Perspective taking in relation to our body brings in the mindfulness of compassion and empathy for our body. When these two qualities are present in our interactions with ourself, self respect, and healthy self image is created. ⁠

Be kind to your body.⁠ Be kind to yourself.⁠
